From the publisher
Inspired by the curiosity and imagination of a thirteen-year-old who loved writing, the annual Martha Mills Young Writers’ Prize gives young people a chance to explore new themes in their writing and to get their work published. The prize, established by the London Review Bookshop, is open to anyone aged eleven to fourteen living in the UK.
The theme for this third year of the prize was ‘A New World’. The stories in the collection were shortlisted for inclusion by the judges, the writer and children’s laureate Frank Cottrell-Boyce, Gayle Lazda from the London Review Bookshop and Martha’s parents, Merope Mills and Paul Laity.
Stories by: Erioluwa Babatunde, Rosa Caughie, Nellie Rosenthal, Shayan Anjum, Rahel Edemariam Dwan, Anna Gardiner, Dasha Hariri, Lucy Hemingway, Aanya Jain, Lily Matthews, Lily-Rose Salhany, Malena Sievers Mayo, Zoe Smith and Noa Spencer-Brown.
